edouard pinet and pierre marmouget were the architects of this eccentric construction of 2 identical appartments, completed in 1956. royan is a bit north of bordeaux, it is where my mother is from, where she lives today and also the subject of a project of mine about the now-called mid-century architecture used to rebuild after royan was destroyed at the end of world war II. i played on the beaches as a kid and love going there at the end of the summer, when it starts to quiet down before the winter.
